Step 8: Reset your selection (optional)
Click the reset button to clear your selections and set all criteria back to default.

Section II – Define query display option (lower left panel)
You can display your results by up to two stratifications. The first stratification must be year if you choose multiple years of data. To display your results by two stratifications other than year, such as sex and race, select only 1 year of data in Step 2, Section I above.

Step 1: Choose first display option
Click on a radio button to choose the first element with which to summarize your query results. For example, if you choose multiple years, the default selection is year, and the resulting table will break down query results by years. Similarly, the resulting bar chart displays query results by year.

As noted, if you choose only 1 year of data for your query population, more options will be available for the first display option. For example, if you choose 2020, the first display option will be by state, network, year, age, sex, race/ethnicity, modality, and cause of ESRD.

Step 2: Choose second display option
Click a different radio button to choose your second display option. The default selection is “None.” For example, if you click “Sex,” the query results will be displayed by both year and sex. The resulting table will show year and sex in the first two columns, and death count, death rate (per 1000 PY), and total patient years in the following columns. In the chart, the first display option is shown as the x-axis category, and the second display option is shown as the legend categories. In this case, the x-axis shows years, and the legend shows sex categories.

You can select up to two summary variables by which to display the data. No secondary display options are available when the first is state or network.

A county map is available when you select a specific state as the geographic area for your query, and display by county. You can also click on a specific state in the state tile-map mentioned above. The county map for Minnesota is shown as an example. Hover over the map to see the death rate (per 1000 PY) in each county. Use the navigation button or your mouse to zoom in and out of the county map. Download the county map by clicking the burger menu located in the upper right corner of the chart.

Like the state tile-map, the geographic map option is available only if you choose 1 year of data in Step 2, Section I above.

2) Table
The resulting table is shown here on the right-hand side of the page. You can copy the table to the clipboard, print it, or click on the “Download” button to download it in CSV, Excel, or PDF format.
